Dear Friends,
In 1993, I founded Art of July to help communities in need through the sale of donated artwork. I came up with the idea while having dinner with a friend at an outdoor café on Boylston Street.
My friends agreed and we began throwing around ideas. My friend Kevin Banks came up with the easel logo and I sat down at my desk to draft an auction letter to send out. We called some friends and began to promote the 1st annual Art of July, which would take place only a mere four weeks later! The event was a success and guests went home with some wonderful treasures for a wonderful cause.
I am so proud to announce that, after 14 years, "Art of July" is moving to the month of June. This move to the beginning of summer will help maximize our fundraising potential and capture, you, our art-loving audience, before summer vacations beckon you away! But rest assured, our mission to helping community organizations through the sale of art, will never change!
This new chapter is an incredible testament to the success of our efforts and to all those who have helped to raise tens of thousands of dollars for various charities over the years.
So, join us on June 7, as we transform The Loring-Greenough House into the most unique art gallery in town. As always, the event will include over 100 auction items ranging from photography, paintings, pottery, furniture, and jewelry.
I am so grateful to the artists who so generously donate year after year. I am forever thankful to the committee members who have made this event the success that it is. Their help and support are the foundation from which this event has grown.
I am thrilled to once again support the work of JP Centre/South Main Streets. I look forward to seeing you on June 7. It promises to be a great night.
With sincere thanks,
Randace
